Red Cross to get new HQ
The Red Cross has been given a site on Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, to develop its new headquarters. The site has been allocated for nominal premium by way of non-in situ land exchange, the Food & Health Bureau said. Its existing site on Harcourt Road, Wan Chai, will be surrendered to the Government for the construction of a footbridge on Gloucester Road to form part of the comprehensive elevated walkway system connecting Wan Chai North and Admiralty. The new site covers a footprint area of 1,940 sq m. Under the organisation's development plan, the new headquarters will have a total gross floor area of 11,900 sq m, providing health-related services, disaster relief and welfare-related services, and youth and volunteer services, as well as special education services.
