The Buildings Department approved 32 building plans in June - 17 on Hong Kong Island, 3 in Kowloon and 12 in the New Territories. 15 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, 7 were for commercial developments, 3 for factory and industrial developments, and 7 for community-services developments.
     Consent was given for work to start on 13 building projects that, when completed, will provide 98,930 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 805 units, and 42,617 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 11 building projects.
     The department issued 18 occupation permits - eight on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and four in the New Territories. These buildings have 17,025 sq m gross floor area for domestic use and 39,045 sq m for non-domestic use. The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled about $1 billion.
