Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has added to its mainland land bank a new prime site in Lanshi, Chan Cheng District in Foshan, Guangdong. The site was recently acquired for RMB 4.705 billion and will provide about 1.6 million square metres (approximately 17.2 million square feet) in gross floor area. The site is strategically located and great development potentials with a rail network under construction.
     In late 2009, SHKP acquired another site in the vicinity, which provides about 1.2 million square metres (approximately 12.9 million square feet) in gross floor area. The two sites will be developed together forming a large-scale integrated development with residences and offices plus a shopping centre. The project will sit atop the extended rail line under construction that will link Guangzhou and Foshan, boasting a superb river view and a convenient transport network.
