Airport reclamation works to commence in 2010
The Government intends to reclaim the foreshore and sea-bed to form approximately 130 hectares of land, and construct a permanent seawall of about 4.1 kilometres and a temporary seawall of about 1.2 kilometres, in the waters off the northeast of Hong Kong International Airport to provide land for the proposed Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities.
About 267 hectares of foreshore and sea-bed will be affected to facilitate the proposed works. The works are scheduled to start in August 2010 and to be completed by about 2015-2016.
