33 building plans approved in June
The Buildings Department approved 33 building plans in June - 16 on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories. Of the approved plans, 11 were for apartment and apartment/ commercial developments, 11 were for commercial developments, five were for factory and industrial developments and six were for community services developments.
     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 141,456 sq m of GFA for domestic use, involving 1,882 units, and 105,369 sq m of GFA for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects.
     The department also issued eight occupation permits - one on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and six in the New Territories. Of the buildings certified for occupation, the GFA for domestic use were 57,008 sq m, involving 184 units, and 89,066 sq m for non-domestic use. The declared cost of the new buildings completed in June totalled about HK$1.9 billion.
