The Secretary for Development has declared King Yin Lei at 45 Stubbs Road a monument under the Antiquities & Monuments Ordinance. The declaration covers the entire site, including the main building, the gardens and the pavilion.

     The restoration works will be carried out in two phases. The first will cover restoration of the roof tiles while the second will focus on the restoration of external walls and internal decoration.
     The first phase will start in October 2008 and all the restoration works are expected to be completed in 2010.
