Held in conjunction with the United Nations’ International Year of Sanitation, the World Toilet Summit & Expo 2008 will be held at The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, from 4 to 6 November 2008.
It is the only dedicated platform focusing on solutions for toilets for the masses. These include public toilets under the responsibility of government agencies in most countries, hotels, hospitals, schools, shopping malls, venues for mega events and underdeveloped areas.
The event is jointly organised by World Toilet Organization and MP Asia. Leading global and regional authorities on sanitation, development and other related institutions have lent their support to the World Toilet Summit & Expo in a big way. Among them are the Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Health Organization (WHO), International Code Council (ICC), Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP), Ashoka Innovators of the Public, Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA), Schwab Foundation, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP)

On 4 July, the World Toilet Summit and Expo team visited the Macau Association of Building Contractors and Developers. In the meeting, association president Mr Tommy Lau gave the thumbs’ up to the event and pledged his support.
The team was on a week-long promotion blitz in Macau, Hong Kong and Guangzhou, visiting various government agencies and associations in the architecture, housing, construction and development industry.
