Redevelopment of hotel in Tin Shui Wan into a housing estate
According to news report, CK Asset Holdings has submitted an application to redevelop its 1,100-room Harbour Plaza Resort City hotel in Tin Shui Wai into a housing estate comprising 5,000 flats. The proposal is to turn the existing 19-year-old Harbour Plaza Resort City into two 53-storey residential towers providing total gross floor areas of approximately 185,800 sq m. The 5,000 flats would be spread across 47 floors in each converted building, with up to 50 units per floor. Gross floor area of up to 139,500 sq m will be allocated to residential development, yielding an average size of about 300 sq ft per unit.
     In Happy Valley, Emperor International plan to turn the former Emperor Hotel into a residential building with 260 rental units. According to news report, Executive Director Donald Cheung said that the group paid about HK$1 million of land premium to the government for the project, due for completion by 2023. Construction cost of the project would be approximately HK$600 million.
