Shenzhen-Hong Kong special tech zone planned
According to news report, Shenzhen plans to build a new Shenzhen-Hong Kong special cooperation zone for technology and innovation as part of the Lok Ma Chau Loop by 2020, with a total investment of RMB50 billion (US$7.19 billion).
     The project is among eight new zones for emerging industries under the latest government plan announced recently by the Economic, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen city. The zone aims to achieve an industrial scale of RMB80 billion and cultivate 100 enterprises with an output value of more than RMB100 million each. It is expected to focus on artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, biology, medicine and life science.
     The Hong Kong SAR Government proposes to move its Immigration Tower in Wan Chai to Tseung Kwan O, involving an estimated amount of HK$6.806 billion. According to the document submitted by the authority to the Legislative Council, the new headquarters will be located at Po Yap Road, opposite to Park Central.
