Chengdu to build 677m tall super highrise
Chengdu Public Resources Exchange recently announced that a plot of land, approximately 299 mu (19.94 hectares), will be sold by public auction later this month. The site is also planned for the construction of a super highrise not exceeding an overall height of 677 meters above ground.
Upon completion, the planned building will be taller than Shanghai Tower (overall height 632 meters) which is, currently, the tallest building completed in China.
Shanghai Tower was completed in March 2016. The building has 118 storeys and a total GFA of approximately 433,954 square meters.
At present, the tallest building under construction in Chengdu is the Shu Feng 468 project. This 468m tall skyscraper is developed by the Greenland Group.
