22 building plans approved and consent was given to start on 15 building projects
The Buildings Department approved 22 building plans in July - six on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories. Nine were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, nine were for commercial development, two were for factory and industrial developments, and two were for community services development.
     Consent was given for work to start on 15 building projects that will provide 205,630 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 3,563 units, and 82,236 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
     It also issued 19 occupation permits - four on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories. The buildings certified for occupation have 190,450 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,464 units, and 97,754 sq m for non-domestic use. The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled $11.7 billion.
     The tender for a Tai Po residential site has been awarded at a premium of $323 million, the Lands Department announced on September 12. Tai Po Town Lot No. 231 at Yat Yiu Avenue, Tai Po Kau, was awarded to Manifold. It has a site area of 7,660 sq m and is designated for private residential purposes. The minimum and maximum gross floor areas are 3,270 sq m and 5,450 sq m.
