One Causeway Bay
One Causeway Bay, a landmark Grade A office and retail development in Hong Kong’s prime waterfront district, officially topped out in July 2025. Developed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and managed by Hongkong Land, the project is now in its final construction phase, with completion targeted for late 2025.
Gammon Construction, the main contractor, has implemented advanced construction technologies including concrete sensors—formally approved by the Buildings Department—to optimize formwork striking and improve productivity. Safety innovations such as spin pods for lifting stabilization have also been deployed.
Design Brief
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in collaboration with Ronald Lu & Partners, One Causeway Bay reimagines the workplace with a focus on sustainability, wellness, and urban integration:
- Façade: A tempered glass curtain wall mimicking Victoria Harbour’s wave patterns, alternating vertically and horizontally across the tower.
- Podium: Setback glazed entry with shaded zones for retail activation.
- Crowning Feature: A rooftop garden and restaurant, topped with a landmark LED screen visible across the harbour.
- Sustainability: Use of green concrete, FSC-certified timber, recycled steel, and AI-optimized chiller systems. The building has achieved provisional Platinum ratings under BEAM Plus, LEED, WiredScore, and WELL, with SmartScore certification pending.
