Peak site sold at a premium of about $12 billion
The tender for a site at the Peak has been awarded on a 50-year land grant at a premium of about $12 billion, the Lands Department announced on December 23. Rural Building Lot No. 1211 at Nos. 2, 4, 6 and 8 Mansfield Road was awarded to Novel Bliss, a subsidiary of Wharf Development. It has a site area of about 12,531 sq m and is designated for private residential purposes. The site’s minimum and maximum gross floor areas are 14,456 sq m and 24,093 sq m. The maximum gross floor area is subject to special condition in the Conditions of Sale.
Three pieces of government land in the New Territories will be let by tender to brownfield operators affected by the land resumption and clearance exercises in or before 2022 under relevant government development projects. Announcing the tender today, the Lands Department said the three sites in Yuen Long and Fanling will be let by way of short-term tenancy and the tender will close at noon on January 21, 2021.
The relevant projects include First Phase Development of Kwu Tung North/Fanling North New Development Areas, First Phase Development of Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area, Public Housing Developments at Kam Tin South and First Phase of Public Housing Development at Wang Chau. Business operators affected by these development projects will be offered statutory compensation or ex-gratia allowances as an alternative, subject to fulfilment of relevant eligibility criteria. The three pieces of land to be let are suitable for a range of brownfield operations including storage, workshop, cargo handling, recyclables collection and fee-paying public car park uses.
