Arte Mont Kiara, Malaysia

Arte Mont Kiara, a residential and hotel complex in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia nears completion. Arte Mont Kiara comprises two residential towers and a hotel, together they form a rising crescendo. Designed by Spark, the towers organised in a rational manner sitting over a car park podium are clothed by a second skin, a series of aluminium fins that provide the 3 buildings with a single homogeneous form. The fins form a“friction ridge”pattern based on the thumb print of the developer. Loops, whorls and arches articulate the form of the towers transforming their appearance created by the relationship of the fins to one another.
The sculpted composition marking this key site in Kuala Lumpur's residential district Mont Kiara. Arte Mont Kiara is unique expression and transformation of the common local residential typology. The podium car park is similarly shrouded by layers of horizontal fins that engages the building with the ground in a positive expression of threshold and landmark address. The streamlined pattern of Arte MK's tower fins are a dynamic interpretation of the common local residential typology, the architecture is juxtaposed against the developers“Restoration”inspired French interior. Arte MK is an artistic articulation of Kuala Lumpur domesticity, something unique and wonderful.
At present, Arte MK nears completion, and is expected to be completed in 2020.
