Carbon Challenge Awards open for enrolment

Launched by USGBC in partnership with Dow, the inaugural Carbon Challenge Award aims to provide structure, recognition and affirmation of the industry’s commitment to a sustainable built environment and leadership in reducing the carbon emissions.
The winners of the 2019 Carbon Challenge Award will be announced during Greenbuild China 2019, which will be held in W Shanghai the Bund on October 23-24, 2019. Selected projects will be featured in a special session, highlighting the challenges and opportunities stake holders faced while delivering high-performance buildings.
Additional recognition will be offered by Dow, sponsor and co-initiator of the Carbon Challenge Award. All the winners and selected top performers will be offered a unique opportunity to be part of the Official Carbon Partnership of Dow and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which will quantify and showcase the actual Carbon impact of selected projects at both the design and operational phases.
The Dow-IOC Official Carbon Partnership was established in September 2017. Under the program, Dow is leveraging the Olympic brand to drive engagement and implement a series of impactful carbon mitigation projects around the world. These projects aim to balance the IOC’s operational carbon footprint while helping to drive the adoption of low-carbon innovations so as to catalyze changes in industry value chains and operational efficiencies. All carbon reductions under the Carbon Partnership are verified by third-party experts.
