Greg Wong has been appointed chairman of the Land & Development Advisory Committee for three years from July 1. Twenty non-official members, appointed on an individual basis, have also been appointed.
     Nine are from trade and professional organisations, and 11 have backgrounds in engineering, construction, real estate development and administration, education, legal, medical, policy research and social services.
     The committee will advise the government, through the Secretary for Development, on policies and procedures in relation to planning, land and building matters; specific development proposals and projects initiated by non-governmental organisations or private sector proponents which carry broader economic or social merits; and, policies, measures and specific development proposals conducive to the Energising Kowloon East initiative.
